I was born in the small town of Santuario (Sanctuary), in the
department of Risaralda, Colombia in 1959. I am self taught and started painting at a very early age.
|
|
I began to paint
while still a child and I feel a great
satisfaction when I paint the divine geometry of nature - FOQUISM - My works pay
homage to the sun for the incomparable beauty of
its rays. To love is to paint and to paint is to love. To freely define the invisible making it possible to observe
the geometry of all that surrounds us. Shadows accompany the light covering the divine order of
nature. Art is liberty, love, living and above all, work of God.

My
works have now been shown in many places in exhibitions around the
world as well as in books and presentations on the Internet and I
have been able to take great satisfaction from this fact as this
has allowed my art to touch the souls of the many different people
that inhabit our earth and who perhaps have little knowledge of
Colombia and surely even less so of my small corner of the world.

One of my proudest achievements was
to have presented my work in the Colombian Congress, the seat of
the Colombian government. It was perhaps a simple fulfilment of
my ambition to have my work observed by a greater public at large.
I hope the viewer will take the time to enjoy what I present here
and will feel free to contact me with any question that he or she
may have.
